Technology
When you’re a distance education student with CSU, your learning experience is enhanced through CSU’s varied approach to flexible study delivery:
1. You’ll receive all your study materials, including printed study notes, texts, CD-ROMs and DVDs, by mail before your course begins, a feature not offered by most online courses. We believe that our courses allow all the benefits of online education with additional learning materials and support.2. Each distance education subject needs around 8-10 hours of study per week. You can alter your study load each semester to suit your needs – full-time, part-time, one subject or five.3. You can connect with lecturers and fellow students via email, online forums, telephone tutorials, videoconferences, on campus residential schools and weekend schools.4. You can submit your assessment securely online.

Web Based Information Systems
Web based information systems, such as online databases, Intranet systems and electronic commerce systems are conceptually different from traditional web sites, which are based on static documents. This subject examines in some detail the process of developing a web based information system, including object modeling, user-interface design, database design and programming. The use of commercial technologies for developing database driven web sites is emphasized.

Create Interactive Web Based Recourses
Research shows that students learn better when they are engaged in their work. So how do we encourage students to become more interactive in their learning, both with each other and with the lecturer? One way is to develop interactive resources that encourage students to communicate, facilitate and guide their own and others' learning.
This webquest will enable you in discovering the who, what, when, where, why and how of creating interactive web based teaching resources and learning strategies.
Each page takes you through the processes required to design, develop and create an interesting and interactive web resource for use in both distance education and face to face classes. New pages linked within the site will open in the same window but to ensure easier navigation back to the webquest window, outside links will open in a new window.
